BRG EVS Director Quincy Jackson Helps Launch Employee Giving Program
August 4th, 2010
Baton Rouge General Hospital (Baton Rouge, LA) launched an inaugural employee giving campaign to help replenish the hospital's humanitarian fund. The campaign, lead, in part, by EVS Director Quincy Jackson, was called "You, Me, and BRG," and ran from May 10-28. More than 400 donors participated--95% of whom were hospital employees and leaders.
"The fund assists staff members who have experienced major life challenges, such as house fire, flood, serious illness, or injury," Jackson explains. "Last year, the hospital assisted 19 employees, who unexpectedly endured a catastrophic event that required financial assistance."
The goal of the program was to raise funds not only to replenish the humanitarian fund, but also to facilitate additional remodeling and hospital-improvement projects, to make the facilities more child-friendly.
"I was nominated to Co-Chair the program committee by Board Members and Executive Leadership," Jackson says. "When approached, I couldn't say no to this worthy cause."
Jackson's involvement and enthusiasm were integral to the success of the campaign.
BRG's Vice President and Chief Development Officer, Beth Veazey, expressed the following in a message to Jackson and his co-chair, Anne Segura:
"Thanks for your leadership, time and support thus far with the Employee Giving Program. We could not have asked for a better launch to our inaugural Employee Giving Program."
In total, the campaign raised more than $100,000 to support BRG humanitarian efforts.
"[Donors] have truly made a difference in [their] co-workers lives," says Segura.
Jackson agrees, "I could not be more proud of the results we've achieved, and I am honored to have been selected to help bring this program to fruition."
The funds raised will his will be divided as follows: $50,000 for BRG's family-friendly area improvements, $25,000 for internal grants, and $25,000 for the Employee Assistance program.
