BRH EVS Team Member Reagan Eburne Helps Save Patient’s Life

May 20th, 2010

Brandon Regional Hospital EVS Team Member Reagan Eburne was recently awarded the hospital's Hospitality Specialist Award for saving a patient's life.

On April 21, Eburne was cleaning floors on the fifth floor of the hospital when he walked by a patient room and noticed its occupant was not breathing and was in distress.

Eburne quickly informed the nursing staff of the situation. Ellie Dehghani, the nurse on duty at the time, said that if Reagan had not notified the nursing staff when he did, the patient might not be here today.

"Mr. Reagan is not only one of our best employees but, is well know trough the entire hospital because of his great caring personality and big smile," says EVS Director Gilbert Algarra.

"He is one of our greatest ambassadors, he represents our company very well, we are proud of having him as a member of our team."

Eburne says he is honored to be recognized, "It felt good to help out, but it was just something we are all expected to do as part of our job."
