EVS Director Creates “I CARE Bear” to Promote New HCA Motto at Lewis-Gale Medical Center

Sean Paris, EVS Director at Lewis-Gale Medical Center, came up with the idea of creating the "I CARE Bear" to increase patient awareness and help boost employee morale.
HCA has adopted a new motto: "I CARE."
Paris took the idea one step further, creating the I CARE Bear, and taking the initiative to rent a bear suit to wear to a meeting with all the Director's to introduce his idea to bring up both patient and employee morale.
"Our goal is to nourish and strengthen a culture wherein awareness of the patient's perceptions are at the forefront of quality, compassionate care," explains EVS Director Sean Paris. "This is best accomplished through staff education and engagement, which is how the idea came about."
"Nothing helps to spread the word better than a friendly and furry, seven-foot I CARE Bear."
