Mother-Daughter EVS Team Members Have Given Lewis-Gale Medical Center 35+ Years

February 3rd, 2010

Patient satisfaction, which has long been a cornerstone of HHS’s service model, has become increasingly important in the healthcare industry in recent years. At HHS, we believe that cleanliness isn’t enough—the patient experience is equally, if not more, important. Lorrie Clements, an EVS team member at Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem, Virginia, was recognized recently for consistently keeping the patients needs first in her mind.

Victor Giovanetti, President of HCA West Virginia and CEO of Lewis-Gale, recently sat down with Clements to personally thank her for solid work ethic, attention to detail, and caring touch.

Clements first joined the EVS team at Lewis-Gale in 2004. Her mother, Judy Tilley, has been at Lewis-Gale since 1979, when she joined the hospital team as a Licensed Practical Nurse. After retiring from her nursing career in 2001, Tilley joined the Environmental Services Department. In her past eight years with housekeeping, Judy has worked in nearly every department and patient care unit in the hospital.

Clements joined the team at Lewis
Gale in 2004, and has contributed to a wide range of hospital departments, including serving as a Linen Tech, a Bed Coordinator, and a Trash Tech, to name a few. Currently, Clements services both the Medical and Surgical Intensive Care units on 1st shift. Clements is widely regarded as being very detaildriven, and consistently maintains a high standard of cleaning. Additionally, Clements demonstrates genuine concerned with each patient’s experience during his or her stay at Lewis-Gale, and her compassion is often noted by the patients, family members, and friends that visit our hospital.

Combined, Clements and Tilley have served Lewis-Gale Medical Center for more than 35 years, and we look forward to having them on our team for many years to come.
