When an unexpected flight delay created a chaotic scene at Dayton International Airport, HHS Customer Service Supervisor Brandie Ford went above and beyond her duties. She offered to help with Irregular Operations (IROP) carts and cleaned up afterward. This proactive, caring approach caught the attention of multiple Delta Air Lines leaders, who sent a chain of emails all the way to HHS's CEO to recognize her. They called Brandie "a huge asset to us."

People-First Background

For Brandie, a career built on caring for others made her transition to HHS a natural fit. With 20 years of experience in nursing homes and home health care, her philosophy has always been to prioritize the well-being of those around her. She came to HHS in 2020 after moving back to Ohio to care for her father, who had four strokes. "I have loved taking care of people,” Brandie shared.

Commitment to Caring

Her passion for service shines through in every aspect of her work. It's her personal touch—such as making coffee, setting up the snack cart, and keeping it stocked—that makes passengers feel welcomed and cared for.

Brandie believes her deep sense of empathy comes from her own experience. "I do what I do because if it were my parents or family, I would hope they were being cared for,” she explained. This personal conviction has also become the advice she shares with new hires: "Treat everyone as if they were your family".

Passion That Sets Us Apart

Brandie’s genuine commitment to excellence is a shining example of what makes the HHS Aviation division so amazing. As HHS CEO Brett Mannion put it, this type of dedication "is certainly above and beyond what is expected of the position, but it demonstrates a caring and commitment to excellence that sets our Team Members apart from our competitors". Her story is a testament to the incredible people who make up our division and a proud reflection of the values that define us.
