A Big Win at Boston Logan
Our Aviation Services team recently hit a major milestone: a successful rollout at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). This shows the team’s hard work, skills, and how well everyone works together here at HHS. Let’s take a closer look at what made this happen, with insights from Dominic Patti, HHS BOS Hub Vice President, and a key leader in the rollout.
Teamwork and Know-How
The BOS rollout's success comes from a few important things, especially our awesome team. Dominic Patti pointed out that we have a “long-tenured, hardworking, and diverse team”. Because everyone knows their job so well, the transition was smooth, and things are running efficiently.
“We have a team that knows their stuff,” says Patti. “Their experience and dedication made this rollout so smooth. Plus, having a diverse team is a huge advantage – different viewpoints and ways of solving problems help us succeed”.
Running Like Clockwork
Getting flights out on time means paying close attention to details and coordinating everything carefully. Patti explained that the work includes several important tasks, like safety briefings, security searches, and different levels of aircraft service depending on how long the flight is.
“In this business, communication is key,” Patti notes. “Things change fast, and we need to be able to adapt and keep everyone in the loop. SmartTrack has been a game-changer, but good old radios and instant messaging are just as important”.
Leadership with Experience
Patti’s long history in the aviation industry has been crucial in guiding the team and making sure the rollout went well. He started as an aircraft deicer and worked his way up to a leadership role at ReadyJet, so he really understands what the team goes through.
“Having been in their shoes, I understand what our team members go through,” Patti explains. “That experience helps me to support them, address their concerns, and create an environment where they can thrive”.
This caring leadership style has built trust and helped the team solve problems effectively, which really contributed to the rollout's success.
Tips for Future Success
Patti shared some valuable advice for future rollouts, stressing the importance of:
