Team member Anthony Polanco in Englewood, Colorado was recognized as the recipient of the facility’s BLOCK award for the second quarter. BLOCK stands for “Build, Lead, and Operate in a Culture of Kindness,” and the award is given to ancillary department employees who provide exemplary care. Anthony was nominated for the award for the numerous compliments he has received from hospital staff as well as patients for providing exceptional care, connecting with patients on a personal level, and always going above and beyond. A couple of the comments are below.

"Every single interaction Anthony P. has with either staff or patients is positive. He is friendly and personable with everyone."

"Every single interaction Anthony P. has with either staff or patients is positive. He is friendly and personable with everyone. He consistently uses AIDET when transporting patients. It’s hard to pick just one occurrence to recognize him for, but today he was very comforting to a patient. The patient was emotional when he entered the room, and he immediately connected with the patient and reminded her of their previous interaction. You could visibly see the patients sense of relief when he talked with her. He also managed up the nurse that would be caring for her at her test, which eased her anxiety. Please recognize Anthony for all he does!  He makes a big difference with the patients and staff!" - RN from Med/Surg Floor

"Anthony is a very classy young man and I was very impressed with his honesty and professionalism. He is truly an asset to your organization." - Patient on Oncology Unit
