HHS Culinary Partners with Joyce Farms

HHS is pleased to announce a new partnership with Joyce Farms for sourcing high quality and ethically raised poultry and meat products.

In early 2017, HHS pledged to foster responsible stewardship, animal welfare, and sustainability practices companywide. To further our commitment we have worked diligently to create an environment consistent with The 5-Step Animal Welfare Rating Program developed by the Global Animal Partnership (GAP). Thus far, HHS has implemented the following:

  • Only purchases cage-free eggs from the United States
  • Eliminated all seafood raised in unsustainable environments
  • Stopped using veal in all operations due to unethical treatment

Joyce Farms’ mission is to provide all-natural meat and poultry with the flavor mother nature intended. Their animals are raised humanely and naturally, without antibiotics or growth stimulants, and are either allowed to graze the pastures or roam free in barns.

“We are very pleased to announce our partnership with Joyce Farms. As we continue to focus on fostering responsible stewardship and animal welfare across all accounts, we are excited to see how this partnership will benefit the future of healthcare foodservice. Getting to know Joyce Farms’ farmers and team has created a bond that is often not found within our industry. This not only shows our commitment to GAP, but also our dedication to better serving our patients and guests with wholesome food they deserve,” reflects HHS Culinary President Dirk Noteboom, R.D.

HHS’ continued mission of successfully identifying partners with the highest quality ingredients and services will help us to refine our sustainability standards and further improve our environmental impact.
