“You can have everything in life you want, if you just help other people get what they want” - Zig Ziglar

This quote is near and dear to EVS Director Arthur Carter and is considered one of his favorites. It has inspired his servant leader mentality and how he guides his team.

Arthur shares, “Being able to work every day and build my team is [what I enjoy about working at HHS]. To give them motivation, to give them encouragement, to give them missions and goals to achieve, and to see them crush them and grow beyond where they thought they could—this is truly a joy.”

Arthur’s Career

Arthur has spent over a decade working in the cleaning industry. Starting as a floor care technician, he eventually took the steps to learn more about housekeeping positions. Through his experience, he gained a wealth of knowledge about operations and was given an opportunity to lead a team as a supervisor.

He joined HHS in 2018 as an assistant director and was told if he worked hard, learned the systems, and performed well, he could advance within two years. Arthur surpassed expectations and received a promotion eight months later. Since then, he has taken two other promotions, one being lateral.

“My experience with HHS has provided me with numerous opportunities in both learning and growing as a leader. It has afforded me the opportunity to come to know some great individuals within the company who have given me a wealth of knowledge and have helped to cultivate my career path.

This has been, by far, the best company I have worked for. It’s also nice to work for a company that celebrates your differences and gives you the opportunity to be the best that you can be.”

Arthur was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, but raised in Dallas, Texas. He is married to his wife of six years, Sandra. The couple has six children and six grandchildren. Arthur loves everything outdoors, fishing, traveling, and making memories with his family.
