We believe in investing in our team members and building a culture of continuous learning and growth. That's why we're excited to announce that 25 deserving team members will be nominated to participate in the Roubxe Program this year, completely free of charge! This incredible opportunity is designed to help you advance your career, expand your skill set, and achieve your professional aspirations.
To highlight the transformative power of the Roubxe Program, we spoke with two inspiring graduates: Chantelle Thomas, HHS Culinary Executive Chef and Director, and Christopher Randolph, HHS Culinary Executive Chef. Their stories underscore how this program can provide the tools and knowledge needed to excel, whether your goal is a director role or an executive chef position.
From Patient Line Cook to Area Chef: Christopher Randolph's Journey
Christopher Randolph, Executive Chef at Sumner Regional in Gallatin, Tennessee, and Area Chef overseeing 13 accounts, is a testament to the Roubxe Program's impact. With nearly a decade at HHS, Christopher started as a patient line cook and worked his way up. "The Roubxe Program helped me grow my career. I started as a patient line cook, and now I'm an Executive Chef. It gave me the chance to move up within HHS," he shared.
Christopher emphasizes that the program provided him with invaluable hands-on skills and knowledge he uses daily. He also gained deeper knowledge of sauces, cuts, and industry terminology, addressing a previous weakness of never having worked in a traditional restaurant setting.
Christopher's advice to those considering the program is simple: "What's great about the Roubxe Program is you can really do it at your own pace. Whether it takes you a couple of days or longer, the opportunity is there, and once you complete it, the sky's the limit". He also highlighted the program's flexibility for those balancing work and family: "It's flexible. If you've got kids or work different shifts, you can still do the Roubxe Program at work or at home, whenever it fits your life". He's most proud of the position he's in today, fulfilling a lifelong dream of becoming a chef.

Perseverance and Growth: Chantelle Thomas's Experience
Chantelle Thomas, Director at Carlsbad Medical Center, has been with HHS for almost seven years, progressing from a cook to her current leadership role. Chantelle completed the Roubxe program in about 10 months.
Chantelle's journey highlights the importance of persistence. She wasn't accepted into the program the first time she applied, but kept pushing. "I was told no for the Roubxe Program the first time, but I kept trying. Going through it helped me get where I wanted to be. It's about not giving up and knowing you can achieve it if you keep working," she shared.
A key takeaway for Chantelle was the understanding that learning comes from everywhere. "The Roubxe Program taught me to really soak up knowledge from everywhere. It made me realize you can learn from anyone, which has been so valuable in my career growth to Director," she explained. She also highlighted that being "okay with no" and not giving up when faced with setbacks is something she's most proud of since completing the program.
