From the Modern Healthcare profile:

What it does: Provides high-quality housekeeping and linen management services to the healthcare industry, partnering exclusively with acute-care hospitals.

How it grew: “Our organization has always believed in a ‘growth by reference’ business model,” says Jon Stokes, Hospital Housekeeping Systems’ senior director of marketing.

“Our best sales and marketing tools have always been our partner facilities.” Stokes says Hospital Housekeeping Systems has racked up the references because of its focused expertise: providing support services management for acute-care hospitals.

After 35 years of providing only housekeeping and linen services, the company responded to pleas from its partner hospitals and added food-services management and patient-throughput software last year.
