HHS Culinary Team Begins Blessing Cart to Help Those in Need

The holidays can be tough for many families as they struggle to have sufficient food and warm Blessing Cartclothing for their household. But given the COVID-19 pandemic, it has made things even harder for some this year.

After the HHS Culinary team in Wilson, North Carolina volunteered at the Salvation Army, the impact they made inspired them to give back to their fellow team members.

Under the direction of Culinary Director Lisa Witlock and Patient Services Manager Chelcie Kurzontkowski, the team set up a blessing cart full of non-perishable food items and winter coats for any employees who may need assistance.

The cart, which is tucked away for privacy, operates on the “give what you can, take what you need” system. The team keeps various items stocked on the cart for individuals to take at their discretion.
