Case Study: Gulf Coast Medical Center – Maximizing Resources & Improving Results

Gulf Coast Medical Center (GCMC) began its partnership with HHS in November 2008, in an effort to improve the cleanliness of the hospital, maximize resources and increase efficiency within the environmental services department, and to increase patient satisfaction and the quality of service delivered by the EVS team.

The 195,000 square-foot, 176-bed, acute-care facility is located in Panama City, Florida, and operated by Hospital Corporation of America (HCA). Opened in 1977 as Gulf Coast Community Hospital, GCMC is a state-of-the-art facility offering the most modern services and technology available to the Panama City community.

“The HHS team makes a significant and positive impact in our hospital every day,” says GCMC Chief Executive Officer Brian Baumgardner.

“When our patients are asked why they chose Gulf Coast Medical Center, their answers often reflect the high value they place on cleanliness and customer service.”
