Rhonda Gant, a housekeeper in Corpus Christi, Texas, was recognized by Nurse Manager Jamie Mitchell for essentially saving a patient’s life. A patient was brought into a room, and about 10 minutes later, he was coding. The call light came on and Rhonda rushed in and was the first to responded. Noticing it was a code blue, she ran down the hallway calling for help, at which time a nurse and a doctor on the unit came to the room to provide life-saving care for the patient. In recognition for her quick action, Rhonda was nominated for an award at her facility.
